The purpose of the CAP Center is to help students find a career or information about a career for their future. It also contains links to sites that can help students with their academic subjects so they may enter the career of their choice.
The Main Areas Of The CAP Center
The Career Section: Careers include search engines, knowledge about careers and suitable suggestions for finding a career of your choice. There are self administered tests as well as sites about military, scholarship information, career college, internships, and apprenticeships.
Quick Access: Quick Access contains information you need quickly; such as, news and current events, weather, sites I use often, sliders, and phone numbers. Information is "At Your Finger Tips".
Other Links: Miscellaneous is an odd ball collection of different things. It includes such things as "The Wandering Mouse", "Little Know Facts", "Recommended Programs", sites for "Young Children", "Challenges", all about "Computers", and Taking a Trip.
Subjects: Subjects is the academic site of the CAP Center. It includes sites to help students with all their subjects,
Search Engines: This section contains a very comprehensive list of search engines as well as activities for learning about search engines.
Projects: If a student is working on an educational project, this is the place to come. It has audio, visual graphics and photographs, quotations, power points and one of the new and important areas on the Internet, "blogs and wikis.
Teachers: Another segment is just for teachers. "The Teachers Briefcase" is relevant because it includes many productive sites for teachers. It includes information about how to create blogs, wiki's, RSS feeds, tagclouds, podcasts, webquests, meaningful resources for teachers, much more.
Testing and Learning: SOL testing, organizers, information about how to take tests and how to study, learning modules and more.
Visit Every Day This section is all about keeping your mind active with everyday things to do. It includes games, puzzles, challenges, vocabulary etc. These are sites that are update daily, weekly, and monthly.
